Apple event on Oct 4 - the hidden meaning behind the invite and more

Iphone-110927
Calendar and Clock Icons: Tueday, the 4th of October at 10:00AM

Map Icon: Event taking place at 1 Infinite Loop, Cupertino, Apple Campus

Phone Icon: The ‘1’ denotes a notification saying there is going to be a new iPhone announcement.

Lets talk iPhone: This event is going to be iPhone centered, and the invite says so. There is also a rumor of an upcoming “Talk to your iPhone” feature.

Thoughts about the iPod: iPod events usually take place in September - and the lack of this September event means that the iPod is not getting any ‘major’ updates and that they are not as important as earlier. These are my guesses:

- The Classic will be discontinued (with the release of the 128gb Touch)

- The Touch will get a 128gb version. It could also get a new color (white?) and/or a 3G version (iMessage?)

- The Nano could become more sleek/curvy to fit perfectly(to body contours) as a watch or necklace ;)

- The Shuffle may go too (as it is no smaller than the Nano and no better without a screen)

So this could be the new lineup:

iPod Nano - 8GB/16GB - widgets, music - wearable

iPod Touch with 3G - 8GB/16GB/32GB/64GB/128GB - iPhone without Phone

iPhone 5 - 16GB/32GB (& iPhone 4 8GB for upcoming markets)

What do you say guys??

Steve Jobs resigns as CEO :(

I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come.

I hereby resign as CEO of Apple. I would like to serve, if the Board sees fit, as Chairman of the Board, director and Apple employee.

As far as my successor goes, I strongly recommend that we execute our succession plan and name Tim Cook as CEO of Apple.

I believe Apple’s brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it. And I look forward to watching and contributing to its success in a new role.

I have made some of the best friends of my life at Apple, and I thank you all for the many years of being able to work alongside you.

Steve
